Louis (Louie) Clarke – 83, of Westhampton Beach, New York, passed away peacefully at the Kansas Center for Hospice Care on November, 26, 2019. He was the loving husband of Kathleen (Dwyer) Clarke, with whom he shared 16 wonderful years of marriage. Louie was also the devoted father of Louis B. Clarke and Louis’ wife, Irene; her daughter, Sarah, of New York City and Quogue; Virginia Pope and her husband, Charles, of New York City and Quogue. Louie was the cherished grandfather of John and Katharine Pope and loving stepfather of five children and nine grandchildren. He was the loving brother of Connie (Clarke) Ringstad of Islip, New York; he was predeceased by his mother, Christina, and stepfather, John Boucher.
Louie served proudly in the United States Marine Corp from 1958 to 1961 as a Captain’s orderly on the USS Saratoga. After graduating from New York University, he was employed by Chase Bank and eventually joined the Investment Firm of JB Boucher where he was employed for 25 years.
Louie was an avid tennis player and golfer, loved Dixieland and was happiest following the securities market and spending quality time with family and his beloved dog Coco. Louie was a former president of the Westhampton Country Club and a longtime member of the Quogue Field Club. He was a longtime resident of Westhampton and Quogue, New York. Aside from his military service, Louie never wanted to be anywhere except home.
