Mrs. Anne Reese Taylor of Quogue and Ridgewood, NJ died on April 22nd at the age of 92. Anne spent over 50 summers in Quogue, and eventually became a full-time resident. Born to Isabel and Anthony Reese in Pittsfield, MA, she earned a B.A. in art history from Smith College and worked for many years at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Anne was an avid bridge player and crossword puzzle whiz. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Dr. John Grantley Taylor (Harvard A.B., NYU M.D.) John was a family physician with a private practice in Little Ferry, NJ. In Quogue they especially enjoyed boating, gardening, birdwatching and walks on the beach with their Norwich terrier. Anne’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She loved to cook and entertain, always clipping and trying new recipes. She is survived by her daughter Mary, Son-in-Law Bill Vogel and three grandchildren, Charlie, Ginger and Chandler. A favorite pastime was playing scrabble with her grandchildren, proving herself virtually unbeatable. She is also predeceased by her brother Gordon Reese of Westfield, NJ. A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Taylor on Saturday, July 16th at Church of the Atonement in Quogue.
