Bruce Jeffery Wright
December 22, 1951 – May 27, 2025
Bruce Jeffery Wright passed away peacefully on the morning of May 27th in Wilmington, North Carolina, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 73.
Born and raised in East Quogue, New York, Bruce built a long and respected career as a stockbroker on Wall Street, weathering decades of change with focus and integrity. He brought quiet strength and sharp intellect to everything he did, with a brilliance fueled by his lifelong passion for reading.
Bruce was a man of patience, tenderness, and deep thoughtfulness. He had a rare gift for connecting with children and a profound love for animals, especially his cherished dogs—most recently Kia and Kona—who were never far from his side.
Above all, Bruce loved his family. He is survived by his children Edward (Amy), Elizabeth (Sisco), K.C. (Randy), Dorothy (Dave), George, and Margaret (Edward), and by twelve adoring grandchildren. He held a lifelong reverence for his mother, Miller, whose grace and strength deeply shaped him.
Bruce is also survived by his three devoted siblings: Barbara (Dale), Sandy, and Keith. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother David.
A lifelong person of faith, Bruce was a member of the East Quogue United Methodist Church. His life will be honored in a prayer and viewing service on Saturday, May 31st, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Werner-Rothwell Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach, New York, followed by a burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Best Friends Animal Society, an organization devoted to the protection and care of animals—something Bruce deeply valued. Donations may be made at https://bestfriends.org
