Colette ''Cody'' Gail Hoyle passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025 at the age of 76, surrounded by family and friends.
Cody is survived by her husband, Paul Hoyle, her stepdaughter Cindy Cook, stepson Brian Hoyle, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Cody, upon graduating from Westhampton Beach High School in 1966, attended Hofstra University where she graduated with a degree in business management. After graduation Cody worked for Central Suffolk Hospital for the next 32 years. Once Cody retired from the hospital, she worked for 18 years at the Westhampton Beach Country Club business office.
Cody gave a lifetime of community service to Westhampton Beach which included becoming the first female firefighter in Westhampton Beach Fire Department. She was elected in 1979, serving in many capacities; as a firefighter, Ladies Auxiliary, and Advisor to the Junior Fire Department. Cody was voted as a lifetime honorary member of the fire department. She was a member of Westhampton Beach Ambulance for 15 years, as well a chartered member of East End Hospice, performing non medical house calls and volunteering in the thrift shop. For over fifty years Cody was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to giving to her community, she enjoyed many hobbies and loved to travel with her husband, Paul.
Please join us in a Celebration of Life honoring Colette ''Cody'' Gail Hoyle on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Werner-Rothwell Funeral Home, located at 60 Mill Road, Westhampton Beach. Refreshments to follow at the Westhampton Beach Fire House at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to East End Hospice.
The family requests that all in attendance wear jeans, sweatshirts and sneakers, as Cody would have wanted.
