Elaine Katherine Silverman was the life of the party. Born a coal miner’s daughter on September 23, 1933 in Shamokin, PA. She made her way to NYC at 17 to start her modeling career. She met and married the love of her life, Barry Silverman, on February 9, 1964 (the same day the Beatles first performed in the US) and together they raised their two daughters Chelsea (nee Lisa) and Andrea in the City. Elaine was an avid sports fan - especially baseball and tennis, she loved the Beatles, the movie Mame, pina coladas, escargot and ice cream! She is survived by her devoted family: her sister Jane Morse, her daughters Chelsea Silvernell and Andrea Hazen, their spouses Elizabeth Silvernell and Baron Hazen and six incredible grandchildren Brenna, Charlotte, Molly, Declan, Asher and Beatrice. Elaine was one of a kind. A woman who definitely did things her way. So please raise a glass, have a dance party and eat ice cream to celebrate her life. We were all lucky to have been a part of it.
Donations can be made in her memory to Bideawee in Westhampton, NY and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
