James Francis Tiernan

James F. Tiernan - Beloved husband of the late Maureen Tiernan (née Ward), Devoted father of Kathleen, (the late Bruce Campbell), Kerry McKiernan (Kevin), James and Brian. Loving grandfather to Maureen, James, Thomas and Liam.

Jim was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 6th, 1936 to Bernard and Teresa Tiernan (née McGann). Jim was pre-deceased by his siblings. Bernard, Thomas, and Marilyn Connolly.

Jim went to Catholic University where he was studying to become a Priest. After changing his life plans he worked for IBM as an Engineer Consultant. Soon after, he met the love of his life, Maureen.

Jim and Maureen married in 1969 and lived in Brooklyn, New York. In 1972 they moved to Manhasset, New York to raise their growing family.  After the death of his beloved wife Maureen in 1975, Jim devoted his whole life to raising his 4 children.

After retiring, Jim moved to Westhampton Beach. He was truly the happiest when he was with his family or playing golf with his treasured friends.

Jim will be missed more than words can ever express.

On Tuesday, June 6th at 9:00am there will be a private service at the Werner & Rothwell Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach for immediate family.

Interment to follow at the Cemetery of The Holy Rood in Westbury, New York.
