Joseph F. Martorano, 91, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026. A man of profound intellect and character, Joe was born in Corona, Queens, on June 3, 1934.
A proud veteran, Joe served in U.S. Army Intelligence and Communications during the late 1950s and 1960s. Following his service, he channeled his discipline into a successful career as an entrepreneur, founding his own office space design firm.
Joe was a true Renaissance man: a pilot, boater, tennis player, and self-taught pianist.
He and his late wife, Mary Ann, shared a passion for the arts, travel, and philanthropy, dedicating their lives to supporting their local community, regional artists and musicians. Upon Mary Ann’s passing, Joe created the Mary Ann Charity to continue the good work they had started. Above all, family was the center of Joe’s life. He was the consummate host, known for his extreme generosity and warmth.
Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Ann; his parents, Joseph and Mary; and his sister, Frances. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Elaine Pascal; nephews Salvatore (Erica) Ferrante, Mark (Jenifer) Pascal, and Christian (Lorraine) Pascal; niece Valerie Ferrante; many great and great-great-nieces and nephews; and dear friends John and Marilyn Martinucci and family.
