Kenneth Reeves, a devoted husband, father, and lifelong music lover, passed away on October 29th, 2025. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, easy humor, and the deep love he shared with those around him.
Ken married the love of his life, Louise, in 1989 at the Bellport Country Club. Together they bought their first home in East Patchogue, where they raised their two children, Andrew and Melissa. Living near the Great South Bay, their days were filled with neighborhood gatherings, birthday parties by the water, and plenty of laughter shared with family and friends.
Later, the family moved to East Quogue, where Ken and Louise enjoyed peaceful walks to the little beach at the end of their road and to a nearby park where they often fed a bird they affectionately called Lefty. He loved playing basketball with old friends, listening to music, and appreciating life’s simple moments.
Ken was known for his enduring friendships, many of which began in high school and lasted throughout his life. His love of music and his knack for winning contests led to adventures—from concerts and trips to Las Vegas to an unforgettable journey through Europe.
Summers at Briney Breezes in Montauk were a cherished family tradition. Ken joined Louise and the kids for long weekends at the ocean, pool and around town. Louise’s mother, Emily, would often care for the kids while Louise and Ken enjoyed special time together. One unforgettable time was when Ken won tickets to see Jimmy Buffett in Montauk—he always had such good luck!
Some other cherished memories included joyful trips to tropical islands together. Each journey was filled with laughter, relaxation and moments of fun, like when the kids would order Shirley Temples at the swim-up bars, or when the family danced with the giant Easter Bunny while vacationing in Cancun!
As the children grew, Ken and Louise continued to explore new places, traveling through Ireland, Scotland, Portugal, and Spain while visiting Andrew abroad, and later enjoying trips to Maryland and Pennsylvania to see Melissa.
Beyond family life, Ken took great pride in his work as Superintendent of Recreation for the Town of Southold. He organized community trips and ensured the smooth operation of local beaches during the summer season.
Ken was a steady and loving presence—practical and grounded, a saver at heart to balance Louise’s love of celebration. Together, they created a life full of laughter, music, travel, and love.
Ken is survived by his wife Louise, children Andrew and Melissa, sister Terri, brother Paul, brothers-in-law Ron and Tom, sisters-in-law Karen and Liz, son-in-law Rob, nephews Jimmy, Paulie, and Christopher, niece Paige, great-nieces Callie and Emma, granddaughters Liliana and Emily, and great-grandnephew Grayson.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but the memory of his kindness, humor, and devotion will forever live in the hearts of his family and friends.
