Phillips, Marian L., at age 96 of East Quogue passed peacefully away on March 13, 2022 at Southampton Hospital.
Marian was one of three daughters of Jacob and Maria Lyba, immigrants of Lviv, Ukraine, and of Brooklyn and Quogue, New York. Born in Brooklyn, she was educated at Colby Academy. Following her education, she became a dance instructor at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in New York City which was followed by a career in fashion modeling. She was married to M. Raymond Phillips of East Quogue and joined the Phillip’s Real Estate firm where she worked with her late husband until retirement.
Marian and Ray enjoyed their home in Darby, Montana also known as “Quogue West” during the summers when they escaped the Hamptons as it became overcrowded. She enjoyed traveling the United States West, summering with her two sisters, raising Cockapoo dogs, and preparing dinners for her family and friends.
Preceded in passing by her husband in May, 2019, she is survived by her nephew Thomas J. Muzyka and his wife Kerry of Dover, Massachusetts, Mark S. Muzyka and his wife Alexandria of Dover, Massachusetts, and Robert Muzyka and his wife Rose of Sherborn, Massachusetts.
A wake will be held at the Werner-Rothwell Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A service at the funeral home at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 19, 2022 will be followed by an internment at Oakwood Cemetery in East Quogue at approximately 1:00 PM.
