Marilyn "Chris" Millican passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday morning, May 14, 2019.
She was born March 21, 1929, the daughter of David I. and Etta Christie of Suffern, N.Y.
She was an accomplished piano player and organist, playing for her local church as a young woman. Once he left home, she was employed for several years in the fashion industry at a large department store in New York City.
Her deep affection for animals was expressed through her enjoyment of her little "farm" in New Jersey, where she raised her family, along with an assortment of dogs, horses, goats, chickens and other happy creatures.
Her later years were spent with family and friends at home in Long Island, planning parties and offering a helping hand to all those around her.
When she wasn't busy playing golf, skiing or tennis, you could find her sprucing up her home, at the beach playing bridge or visiting friends. She loved to listen to big bands, musicals and was especially fond of Al Jolson and Louis Armstrong songs.
She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, impeccable style, grace and a generous heart.
She was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her son Brady Millican, grandchildren Ian and Katy Millican, her daughter Christie Wescott and grandson Colin Wescott. She will be fondly remembered by her many friends, who were the highlight of her life.
