Patrick J. Fenton

Patrick J. Fenton, age 90 of Westhampton, passed away on September 28, 2023. Beloved husband of Catherine.  Loving father of MaryEllen and Siobhan. Cherished brother of Michael, Jim, Mary, and Eileen who live in their hometown of Ballina, County Tipperary, Ireland.  Patrick arrived in the United States at age 27, to become a successful accountant working for The Ford Foundation and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  At age 50, he gave up his career in accounting; earned a Master’s degree in Education to become a teacher at Our Lady of Victory elementary school  in Floral Park. He switched careers because over the years, he had the pleasure of helping his two daughters with their homework and enjoyed every moment of it.  After retirement from teaching, the family moved to Westhampton and bought a house on an acre of land so that Patrick could use all the farming skills he learned as a young man in Ireland.        

   Visitation will be held on Monday, October 2, from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at Werner-Rothwell Funeral Home, located at 60 Mill Road, Westhampton Beach, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Westhampton Beach. A private cremation will follow.
