Raymond R Hann of Westhampton, NY died peacefully on March 6, 2025, at his home in Westhampton. He was 76.
Born to Vernon & Ellenor Hann on November 10, 1948. Raymond was a lifelong resident of Westhampton. After graduation from High School, Raymond attended Suffolk County Community College, earning a degree in mechanical engineering prior to joining the family business, RG Hann & Son Inc. where he worked until retirement.
A beloved member of the WH community, Raymond devoted much of his free time throughout his life to several local groups including volunteering with the chain gang at the local WHB Hurricanes football games for over 3 decades.
He was an active member of the WH Fire Department for 21 years while also serving as Fire Commissioner for 25 years. A Westhampton Beach Fire Department Firematic Service will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the Werner-Rothwell Funeral Home.
An accomplished wood carver & artist; he was the recipient of many Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition Ribbons in Ocean City, MD placing 1st, 2nd & 3rd for his decorative decoys.
Raymond was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Westhampton Beach where he served as a trustee and deacon.
An avid racing enthusiast, RG Hann sponsored many modified race cars, spending many weekends at Riverhead Raceway with the pit crew as well. Another great passion included being a lifelong NY Yankees superfan.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Maura and her 3 children, Brian, Kelly & Courtney Crowley, and 3 grandchildren Brian, Axl & Dax.
He is also survived by two sisters Janet Hann & Ellen Brenner (William) and brother La Mont (Karen). As well as nieces Lisa (Rob), Marie (Vinny), Jennifer, Jamie and nephew Jason. Additionally, great nieces Alyssa, Sara and Gabriella.
Raymond’s generous & kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
