Richard W. Duenn
Richard Duenn, 79, passed away on September 2, 2021 following a lengthy illness.
Rich, as he was commonly known, was born on June 1,1942 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. In 1960, after high school, he joined the Air Force. He served until 1964 during which time he was stationed at Suffolk County Air Force Base in Westhampton Beach. It was there he met Jean.They were married on April 10, 1966. They moved back to Illinois, where on January 1, 1971, their daughter Susan was born. Rich took a job with Melcore and was with them for 18 years having worked his way up to Vice President. They moved back to Quogue in the Spring of 1979. Upon his return to Quogue, Rich became involved in the Quogue Fire Department where he spent more than 30 years, including being Fire Chief from 1987-1989. After retiring, Rich spent time doing what he loved best which included fishing and wood working.
