Richard Matula passed away on August 12, 2021 at the age of 95. Richard was born in New York City to Paul and Christina Matula on April 7, 1926. He served in Italy during WWII, was a former Sales Director of Newhouse Newspapers in New York City. He was a long time resident of Westhampton and in retirement was President of Greater Westhampton Seniors Group, Vice President of AARP Eastern Long Island Chapter. Survivors are his wife, Virginia, nieces Diane S. Mullen, Westhampton Beach, Dotty Ewing (husband Pete), Pasadena, California, nephews, Alan Sullivan (wife Joan), Seattle, Washington, Lawrence Sullivan (wife Jean), Littleton, North Carolina, Gregory Sullivan (wife Kathleen), Eastport, New York. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Werner-Rothwell Funeral Home, located at 60 Mill Road, Westhampton Beach, NY. A graveside service will take place on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Westhampton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the East End Hospice or the Salvation Army.
