William D. Hartman, Jr.

William D. Hartman Jr. was born on February 13, 1944, to Violet Hartman (nee Kangas) and William Hartman Sr. He was third of six boys. Born in NYC, he grew up in Center Moriches, NY, where he graduated from Center Moriches High School. Upon graduation he enlisted and served in the U.S. Army. He married Linda Dolt in 1966 and had two sons. They resided in Eastport, NY.

Bill worked for Gruman Aircraft and when they left Calverton, he went to work for the phone company. He retired from Verizon and continued to serve his community. He was a lifelong member of both the American Legion and the VFW. He was an EMT and served with the East Moriches Ambulance Company and was a fifty-eight (58) year member of the Eastport Fire Department.

His wife, Linda, of many years, passed in 2018. He married his high school sweetheart, Diane Pollack in September 2024.

Bill is predeceased by his mother and father, his wife, Linda, two sons, Christopher and William. Two brothers Russell and Charles predecease him, also. He is survived by his brothers, David in Indianna, Steve in Arizona and Stan in New York. He is survived by his wife Diane and two grandsons, Danny and his wife Carissa, and Jayson. There are also three great-grandchildren, Noah, Claire, and Leah.
